At S Rouse, we are passionate about crafting bespoke, made-to-measure sofas and chairs that blend timeless design with unparalleled comfort. Our names are David and Julie Spragg, husband and wife, and with years of experience in precision manufacturing and a dedication to excellence, we have established ourselves as leaders in custom furniture production.
Our journey began with a simple belief: that every home deserves furniture that is as unique as the people who live there. The business was established as a traditional upholsterer in 1938 by Mr Rouse. Over the years, we’ve expanded to make our own quality furniture, and to supply complete interior soft furnishings – carpets, rugs, curtains, blinds, paint and wallpaper, too.
With this many years of experience in making luxury handmade furniture, this led us to realising that people often struggle to find sofas and chairs that are exactly the right size and shape. Thirty years ago, we decided to make our own – and we’ve been helping the nation sit comfortably ever since.
We offer a full repair and re-upholstery service also – from antique restoration to modern upholstery – and can supply and fit loose covers for household names including Ercol, Parker Knoll, Laura Ashley and Multiyork.
All our furniture is made to order to your requirements – from the height of the back to the comfort of the cushion fillings and the look and feel of the fabric. As a small team with years of experience and a wealth of knowledge, we’ll guide you through every step of the way to ensure you get the perfect solution, to your exact specification.
Finally, if you’re claiming on your home insurance for accidental damage to your existing sofa, we’ll deal with your insurer direct, to keep things simple.
With our distinctive navy blue branding, the Rouse Showroom is a familiar landmark on the route into Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. We have been manufacturing high quality, made-to-measure sofas and chairs in our Cheltenham workshop for over 30 years.
