The Year in Fabric: Interior Trends We Loved in 2025 – And What’s New for 2026
As 2025 draws to a close, we’re taking a moment to reflect on the colours, textures and design stories that shaped our homes this year. From bold botanical prints to comforting boucle, it’s been a year of confident style and thoughtful comfort.
At S Rouse, we’re proud to stock some of the most inspiring names in interiors—Designers Guild, Morris & Co, Sanderson, Moon, Harlequin, Linwood and many more. Their collections not only influence how our customers decorate, but how they feel in their homes.
🌿 2025 in Review: A Year of Fabric with Personality
1. Texture took centre stage
From deep velvets to chunky wools and slubby linens, 2025 was all about tactile luxury. Linwood and Zoffany led the charge with rich, touchable fabrics that brought comfort and depth to sofas, curtains and headboards.
2. Pattern made a confident comeback
Florals, damasks, and painterly prints gave personality to living rooms and bedrooms alike. We saw bold use of Sanderson’s heritage designs, Harlequin’s expressive palettes, and statement looks from Voyage Maison and Clarke & Clarke.
3. Earth tones ruled the colour charts
Warm terracotta, forest green, deep navy, and ochre all made appearances—especially on bespoke upholstery. These grounding tones created cocooning, nature-inspired interiors, often paired with natural wood and soft lighting.
4. Craftsmanship reigned supreme
People turned away from fast-furniture and embraced pieces made to last. We saw renewed interest in reupholstery, with customers choosing timeless fabrics from brands like Moon, Art of the Loom and Ian Mankin to refresh beloved armchairs and family sofas.
🔮 Looking Ahead: Fabric & Interior Trends for 2026
– Understated maximalism
Think layered neutrals with one big surprise—whether that’s an abstract print from Designers Guild or a pop of citrus piping on an otherwise traditional chair. 2026 interiors will celebrate quiet confidence.
– Warm minimalism with heritage roots
Expect to see pared-back schemes infused with British heritage fabrics—Morris & Co, Moon, and Kirkby Design will lead the way with understated but characterful designs.
– Nature, revisited
Botanical motifs aren’t going anywhere, but we’re seeing a shift towards woodland-inspired tones and raw, woven textures—perfectly captured by Colefax and Fowler and Villa Nova.
– Blue is back (again)
While navy has stayed popular, expect cooler blue-greys and icy teals to make a return in curtain fabrics and occasional upholstery pieces. Gainsborough and Osborne & Little are already embracing this in their 2026 launches.
